Camino de Santiago: Do the Impossible

Before the Camino de Santiago, I was not a hiker.  I thought nature was beautiful, but rarely spent time in it. Just the thought of walking more than 4+ hours at a time made me exhausted.  Besides, I really didn’t enjoy walking that much in the first place. However, I felt a strong feeling on the inside:
 .
“Do the Camino de Santiago.”
 .
I was not in the best physical shape and I felt I was not physically capable walking such a long distance and I gave myself one hundred reasons why I could not do it.
 .
I said to myself, “One day, after I train more, then I will do the camino.”
 .
 .
As much as I wanted to run away from this call within my heart, I couldn’t.  It was so strong.  It consumed my thoughts, even though I was trying to avoid it.  After weeks of this constant tug on my heart, I accepted the challenge.  I was going to do the Camino de Santiago.  Physically I didn’t know how, but I was going to make it happen.
 .
Sometimes in life we are faced with things that seem impossible.
 .
In my case the impossible was a 31-day pilgrimage across Spain.  However, don’t be surprised, if the impossible task you think you can’t do and really want to do, tugs deeply on your heart.
 .
What is the “impossible” task in your life?
 .
Is there something that you KNOW you should do, but make up a thousand reasons why you can’t do it?  Why is it impossible?  Whether it’s a childhood dream, a fitness or weight loss goal, etc., what is that impossible task?
 .
Make up your mind to do the impossible task in your life.
 .
Make up your mind that you WILL achieve that goal no matter how hard it may be or how long it takes.  Everything worthwhile will take hard work, dedication, and the ability to view the “impossible task” from a different angle.  Realize that although it seems impossible, you must start with a small step.  I could have easily looked at the total distance of the camino and given up before I started; however, I simply took one step at a time.
 .
Want to know the best part?  Step by step, I completed my impossible task.
